Jesus’ Mission Was to Reveal the Father, Not to Seek Worship for Himself

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus consistently points beyond Himself to the Father.
John 14:9 – “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”
John 17:3 – “This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
His purpose was to reconnect us with God, not to become the final object of worship in isolation from the Father.

Jesus Invited Imitation, Not Mere Adoration

Jesus didn’t only say “believe in me,” but also said “follow me.”
He called disciples to take up their cross, forgive enemies, love sacrificially, and serve humbly and to become like Him.
John 13:15 “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”
If Christians only worship Him without transformation, the purpose of His coming is missed. He came to make us children of God (John 1:12).

Jesus’ Teaching About Oneness With Him

John 15:4-5 – “Abide in me, and I in you… Whoever abides in me bears much fruit.”
John 17:21-23 – Jesus prays that believers “may be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you.”
This shows He wanted union, not distance. Worship alone can create separation but union means His life becomes our life. becoming the temple is the transformation power that turn us to become Christ.

The Early Church Understood Deification

Early Christians taught that God became man so that man might become godlike.
This doesn’t mean we replace God, but that His nature is imparted to us.
2 Peter 1:4 – “You may participate in the divine nature.”
Jesus wanted transformation: not admirers, but living images of Himself.

Why Jesus Accepted Worship but Redirected Its Purpose

At times, people bowed or worshiped Jesus (Matthew 14:33; John 9:38), and He did not reject it.
But His focus was always on leading them to the Father through Him.
The worship of Jesus is meaningful only when it leads to living like Him, not stopping at admiration.

The Real Danger of Only Worship Without Becoming

If Christianity becomes only about bowing to Jesus, it risks:
Idolizing His image without embodying His life.
Avoiding the hard work of forgiveness, sacrifice, and love.
Creating a religion of distance, not union.
Jesus Himself said: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom… but the one who does the will of my Father” (Matthew 7:21).

Jesus did not come seeking empty worship; He came to reproduce Himself in us. He wanted us to become love as He is love, to forgive as He forgives, to embody the kingdom as He embodied it. Worship without transformation misses His mission.
Jesus did not merely want Christians to worship Him, He wanted us to become Him.

To become Him or like that Father you must first transform your like to become God temple .

Becoming a temple isn’t about bricks or buildings it’s about becoming a place where God’s presence dwells. In Scripture, believers are often described as the “temple of God.

Here’s what that means and how you can live it out.

Understand the Foundation

Biblical truth: Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16).
A temple is not just a structure it’s a sacred place set apart for God. You become a temple by letting your life be dedicated to Him.

Invite God’s Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the true presence of God within us.
This begins with faith in Jesus Christ—accepting His sacrifice and allowing Him to become your personal Lord and savior and allowing His Spirit to live in you.

Live in Holiness

A temple is pure, not defiled. This means avoiding sin and living in righteousness.
Paul says, “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit… Therefore glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).
Guard what you watch, think, say, and do. because a temple reflects its God.

Practice Worship and Prayer

Temples are filled with worship. Likewise, fill your life with prayer, thanksgiving, and praise.
Instead of incense and offerings, offer God your time, your talents, and your heart.

Be a Light to Others

A temple draws people closer to God. Your life should inspire others to seek Him.
Kindness, justice, compassion, and truthfulness make people see God in you.

To become a temple, surrender your life to God, let His Spirit dwell in you, live in holiness, keep a worshipful heart, and shine His light in the world.
